2019 Retreat - The Despacho

My second retreat took place in October. As part of the retreat a beautiful soul and Shamanic Healer Kim Fruen of Alter-native Therapies provided some opportunities for those on retreat to experience new healing modalities they may not have experienced before. 

This retreat saw the return of the Cacao Ceremony with individual healing - beautiful and heart opening. 

New to this year was a Despacho Ceremony. Kim took time to tell us the Qero of Peru believe that if you pray your prayers are heard, that a spoken prayer is more powerful than those you say to yourself and that a Despacho is a physical prayer which is more powerful than a written prayer. 

We were told that the specific design represented the directions of the compass and the shamanic wheel including the animals for each direction. That the petals represented the heart and the grain inside represented fruitfulness. One by one each of us were invited to place an item in the Despacho giving us an opportunity to talk and express to the group what we would like to manifest in our lives. One by one each of the group opened their hearts in a magical process that saw the Despacho filled with our physical intentions to manifest what we spoke of during the ceremony. 

The Despacho was wrapped and passed round the room in a process that added more of the group energies to the precious bundle of our prayers. 

To manifest the prayers the Despacho was placed on an altar for the remainder of the retreat and then released into the fast flowing River Lea after the retreat to carry our prayers to manifestation. 

As always I love working with Kim and have watched her progress in healing modalities, courage and confidence over the years. To be part of Kim’s first groups Despacho and see the power and magic unfold for all was an honour and most beautiful experience.
